VFW Post 12110 Service Officers Hours of Operation

The Service Officers prepare VA claims on Tuesdays and Thursdays 0900 – 1400, except holidays.

The TV advertising media is again running ADS for Law Firms and Individual Attorney’s. These ADS state that these Law Firms and Individual Attorney’s can file your VA claim for benefits.

A veteran or spouse of a veteran does not need the assistance of a lawyer. VSO’s such as the American Legion, AMVETS, DAV, VFW do VA claims free of charge. Attorneys charge. Before you hire a lawyer contact: commander@vfwga12110.org

Lawyers cannot get a veterans claim done any faster either. Veterans law is complicated. The VSO’s listed above have been doing VA claims since 1899 in case of the VFW the others from 1918 and later.

Contact commander@vfwga12110.org for additional information.

Georgia State Senate -Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee

Senate Bill 188 is in this committee. The bill amends the Georgia Bingo law on the amount of prize awards that can be paid at a bingo session.
Currently Georgia Veterans and other organizations cannot compete with FT. Benning and Alabama because they have no limits on the amount that they can payout at any bingo session. The average payout for them is approximately $3,000, while Georgia is $1,500.

2015 VFW Southern Conference Report by Post 12110 Commander

The 2015 VFW Southern Conference is history. As past conferences have been, this conference was very successful. The Commanders and their Adjutant/Quartermasters attending this year’s conference were briefed by the VFW National Training Division on all of the changes that have already taken place or will become effective in the 2015-2016 VFW year. The two day training sessions informed Commanders through out the VFW Southern Region on how each of them  and their  officers and members can provide better services to veterans in their Post jurisdiction. They were trained on how to increase their Post membership. The biggest change in our VFW is changing the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Auxiliary. This change will do more to improve VFW membership than the VFW has done in our 116 years of existence. The VFW has been serving Veterans for 116 years. a veteran can only join this elite veterans organization by meeting the VFW eligibility requirements of serving in a hostile combat environment and be Honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces. As a Legacy Life Member and VFW member, since  August 1968, I encourage all eligible active, retired and former veterans to join this great organization. Your membership in the VFW is vital to the VFW’s efforts on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C., in our state legislatures and local governments. Our voices are loud and clear in the seats of government. Contact a Post 12110 Officer or member to learn how you can continue to serve our great country. The Colonel Robert B. Nett VFW Memorial Post 12110 has several benefits available to its members. Contact Thomas “Matt” Eldridge, Post Membership Chairman at 706-341-6852 or e-mail: thomaseldridge24@gmail.com
