Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Col. Robert B. Nett

Army Col. Robert B. Nett, one of Columbus’ most decorated World War II veterans, will be honored Sunday with a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in his name.

The post will be installed in the name of the World War II Medal of Honor recipient, who died in October 2008 at age 86. The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. in the main dining room of Covenant Woods, an assisted living facility at 5424 Woodruff Farm Road. An official dedication will follow in the spring.

Nett’s son, Dr. Robert B. Nett Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, said although his father’s name may adorn the building, the memories of all his friends and comrades go along with that spirit.
